flagg has lost her ability. her books have become boring rehashes of each other. southern women in traditional roles involved in the same old southern claptrap as nearly every other story involving southern women. her first books were original, fun and interesting, now they are merely the same book over and over and over again.

This was another Fannie Flagg amazing story. This book held my interest and I could not put it down. I found myself laughing out loud and almost crying during my reading of it. It's a wonderful, warm story with her usual, unusual characters. You will love it!

As usual this great writer takes you back into wonder land and you do not want to leave it. The characters are great like every book that Fanny Flag writes. Funny but I have done the "to whom it may concern" senario like Maggie I planned to the detail also. It very funny remembering it

Occasionally, I like to read a book purely for entertainment. It's what I call a "comfort book"...no deep meaning, history lesson, or great social significance. Like a comfort food that may lack nutritional substance, it just feels good when you're finished with it. This book fits that niche. Fannie Flagg is true to her Southern roots in this tale of an aging beauty queen passed her prime who does not see her own value or her importance to others. Literary minds may find it predictable as I did myself, but in the end it is a sweet and heart-warming story and an enjoyable read. And perhaps there is a social message to other middle-aged women who are blind to their own worth.

Too often we become so disappointed in the humdrum of everyday living, in the emptiness of feeling inadequate, whether it be in the workplace, home life or in the eyes off others that we loose sight of how beautiful life is. We fail to see the worth of others, how free we are to just be ourselves and can almost do something that would be the last thing we would ever do. Maggie drew me in to her story as I had at times had similar feelings, just never to the point of considering taking my life. It's always a wonderful joy to have true friend that never forgets her friends, loves you unconditionally. Great read.

Like many authors from the American South, Fannie Flagg entertains her readers with humor and poignancy. I've enjoyed all her books, and this one is no different. Her characters are lovable, her plot believable and compelling, and her message timely. Loved it!

What can I say about my favorite author? Her books never disappoint and always contain surprising plot twists. I am sure that when Fannie Flagg gets to Heaven (no time soon, I hope) the Lord is going to have her entertain with her marvelous stories.

Fannie Flagg proves, once again, that she's a wonderful storyteller. I can't think of anything at all that I have in common with Maggie Fortenberry, but I cared about this woman and her story. When I finished "I Still Dream..." I missed Maggie.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The streets, areas, and landmarks in the book are all familiar to me, since I have lived in Birmingham for years. Following the story, the humorous conversations always made me smile, and the perfect plan made by Maggie had kept me anxious in the first half of my reading. It brought my nerve to the very point when seeing Maggie was about to achieve her ultimate goal, then the beautifully-made turning point brought the whole story to another new level. So brilliant! This book, in my opinion, also successfully represents those true Southern virtues, like good manner, thoughtfulness, and love and care for each other! You would agree with me if you have had a chance to live here and witness by yourself.

Even though this story was predictable I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Fannies interesting aray of characters and the emotional ups and downs they experience made for a heartwarming read. I truly hope this book will transition to a movie sometime soon!

I love Fannie Flagg. Unfortunately, this book really didn't rurn on my funny bone at all. I did finish reading it because I made a promise to myself that I would finish any book I buy...good, bad, or otherwise. Some books I go back and read again just because they are so good. This is not one of those books

She reads her own books. You can hear the characters as she I visioned them and that is special. Plus the humor and rich characters she writes into your world. Yes buy this one and enjoy many times.

The story is well written, and has layers that draws you in, no F words or sex which is great and a rare thing, and shows that she has enough confidence in her writing ability that she doesn't need to stoop to trash to attract readers. I will read more of her books.

I've been waiting for another book from Fannie Flagg, and couldn't wait to get this as the first one to read on my new Kindle. Maggie (former Miss Alabama) and her pals at the real estate agency are entertaining and the story is fun and fast-moving. I picked it up to read every free chance I got & finished it in two days. It's a good one.

I purchased the book for a friend after listening to it with Audible. Fannie Flagg is always a winner and this is no exception. A combination of humor, spirituality and good story telling. My friend said it is especially enjoyable for realtors.
